DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

C.E.S.A. POSTS AND ITS RESPONSIBILITIES

CESA Chairmen 1. A figurehead and the senior representative of the Club.
2. A ‘father figure’ and advisor to the Committee.
3. A trustee and guardian of CESA ethos and tradition.
4. The President must be:
a. A long-standing active CESA member of excellent character.
b. An experienced ex-Committee member.
c. Available and approachable, especially to the Committee.
General Secretary 1. The Secretary’s main duty is to chair Club Committee meetings and theAnnual General Meeting.
2. It is their duty to ensure that these meetings are carriedout in an orderly fashion and thatall items listed on the agenda are discussed.
3. The Secretary also usually deals with matters that arise during the normal day to dayactivities,which require attention from someone with seniority within the club.
Joint Secretary Has no specific duties as such but will deputize for the Secretary when either She/he is unable to attend.
Treasurer 1. Is responsible for control of finances such as receiving income from registration, spares, advertisement etc.
2. Prepares the annual accounts and balance statement.
3. Keeping database of inventories
Registrar 1. Receives applications/renewal forms (and payment) from new and existing members.
2. Updates the club’s membership database and sends out membership cards.
3. Provides up to date information on membership on request from committee members.
4. Produces information for the printing of Register of Members.
5. Holds database of the Committee.
6. Updates the database as required,receiving completed database amendment forms returned with membership renewal forms.
7. All the collected money to be handed over to the treasurer.
Editor 1. Receives material from the membership intended for inclusion in the magazineand arranges for it to be collated and laid out in a suitable format to be printed.
2. Liaises with the classic car press and deals with general press enquiries.
3. Holds all archive material acquired by the club. Club photographs, drawings, documents, items etc.
4. Will provide copies of the archive databaseor of any archive material on request from members.
Public Relation Officer (PRO) 1. Will provide general and technical information about the CESA on request from membersof the club.
2. Request for information may be by direct e-mail or Text.
3. Public relationship with the non-registered members.
4. Markets about the events organized.
Event CoordinatorTechnical Organizing a. Technical events b. Competition. c. Guest Lecture 1. Can help each other
2. Maintains a diary of forthcoming events of likely interest to club members
Cultural Organizing a. Cultural events. b. Festivals. c. Days d. Birthdays of the faculties.
Discipline
a. He/She is in charge of the planning, organization, development and monitoring of matters relating to student discipline at school
b. To work in collaboration with other functional teams and/or subject committees in running preventive and developmental programs.
c. To collaborate with parents of students with behavior problems in helping the students overcome their difficulties
d. To take the lead in conducting investigation of complaints from students, parents, teachers and the public
Sports:
a. To arrange Sports events.
b. To prepare list of students who participated in various sports activities and maintain the data.
c. To submit attendance of these students to respective GFM
Marketing Coordinator 1. Holds stock of spares, recording existing stock.
2. Arranges for the design and manufacture of new stock items when demand is identified.
3. Purchase of new items.
Spokesperson/Anchor 1. Introduction of college and department

The establishment of the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering Lavale on September 15, 2014, marked an important milestone for the students and faculty members involved. With a membership of over 200 students and 10 faculty members, ACES aims to enhance the overall educational experience and personal development of its members through various activities and programs.

Here's a summary of the key details about ACES:

Inauguration: The association was inaugurated on Engineers Day at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering Lavale, with the honorable principal leading the ceremony.

Leadership: The association is led by elected student representatives, including the President, Vice President and Treasurer. These representatives play a crucial role in coordinating and organizing activities on behalf of the student body.

Faculty Involvement: While students lead the association, all activities and monitoring are overseen by faculty members. Dr. U. C. Patkar serves as the Chairman, and Prof. A. M. Ingole serves as the Vice-Chairman and Prof. S. S. Pawar as the secretory of the association, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of ACES initiatives.

Activities: ACES organizes a diverse range of activities aimed at fostering academic, professional, and personal growth among its members. These activities include workshops, training programs, seminars, webinars, project competitions, departmental cultural and sports activities, as well as social initiatives such as blood donation drives and tree plantation campaigns.

Overall, ACES serves as a platform for students and faculty to collaborate, engage in meaningful activities, and contribute positively to the college community and beyond. Through its initiatives, ACES strives to enrich the educational experience and promote holistic development among its members.

 

Professional Membership

The professional memberships to CSI (Computer Society of India) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) at the Department of Computer Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering Lavale, Pune signify the commitment of both faculty members and students to staying at the forefront of advancements in the field of computer science and engineering. CSI (Computer Society of India):

Institutional Membership: The department has subscribed to CSI's Institutional membership for five years, allowing students and faculty access to the resources, events, and networking opportunities provided by CSI.

Chapter Establishment: The department established its CSI chapter on November 30, 2017, to facilitate collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development among its members.

Programs and Events: Numerous programs have been organized under the CSI chapter, providing students and faculty with opportunities to engage with industry experts, participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences, and stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field.

National Presence: The CSI chapter at the department is part of a larger network of CSI chapters across India, with successful execution in cities such as Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Delhi, Patna, and Pune.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers):

Individual Memberships: Head of the department Dr. Uday Patkar and Prof. M.A.Patil faculty member and students from the department have subscribed to IEEE membership, granting them access to a wealth of technical resources, cutting-edge information, and networking opportunities.

Benefits: IEEE membership helps members stay technically updated, connect with experts in the field, and network with colleagues locally and internationally.

Student Involvement: Students from the department is actively involved as a member of the Local Graphic Design and Animation subcommittee for IEEE Bombay Section, contributing to IEEE's initiatives and activities in the region.

These professional memberships not only provide access to valuable resources and networking opportunities but also contribute to the professional development and growth of both students and faculty members. By engaging with professional societies like CSI and IEEE, the department demonstrates its commitment to promoting excellence and innovation in computer engineering education and research.
