POs, PEOs and PSOs - Mechanical Engineering

Programme Outcomes (POs):

  1. To train student to apply knowledge of engineering, science and mathematics to problem solving.
  2. To analyze engineering problems.
  3. To design solution to problems.
  4. To train student to be able to carry out methodical investigation.
  5. To be able to use modern IT tools.
  6. To be able to assess societal, cultural, health, safety and legal issues.
  7. To be able to understand effect of solution on environment.
  8. To be able to take ethical decisions.
  9. To be able to work in multidisciplinary teams as team member or team leader.
  10. To be able to communicate orally and in writing. To be able to give presentations.
  11. To be able to manage a project.
  12. To be able to update knowledge continuously and be lifelong learner.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

  1. Cater to the needs of Indian as well as multinational industries.
  2. be competent with strong technological background to analyze data, formulate and undertake industrial problems and obtain viable solutions
  3. Make successful career in industry / research / higher Studies.
  4. Be life-long learning and should be able to work on multi-disciplinary projects.
  5. Be Competent for effective communication, in management and in professional skills and ethics.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

  1. Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Sciences and engineering fundamentals to formulate, analyze and provide solutions to the problems related to Mechanical engineering and communicate them effectively to the concerned.
  2. Design mechanical systems in various fields such as machine elements, thermal, manufacturing, industrial and inter-disciplinary fields by using various engineering/technological tools to meet the mercurial needs of the industry and society at large.
  3. Choose further studies for research in topics such as design engineering thermodynamics, heat transfer, manufacturing processes as per his ability and inclination to solve real life technical problems in the Indian and foreign industries.
  4. Get knowledge of material science, metallurgy, measurement techniques, automatic feedback control, hydraulic and pneumatic control which will be able to distinguish between right and wrong engineering procedures.
